On Thursday, August 4, 2011, Congressman Jim Gerlach took time out of his busy schedule to visit with Spirit Fire Farm staff at Peace by Piece Farm in Chester Springs, PA. Congressman Gerlach met with Aislinn Vaughan (Director), Megan McCormick (Arts Manager), Alison Haase (owner of Peace by Piece Farm), and Grace (participant) to discuss the mission and guiding principles of the organization and Spirit’s plans for the future. Congressman Gerlach proved to be a wealth of knowledge and suggested several funding sources that would potentially support an organization like Spirit. We are deeply appreciative that Congressman Gerlach took the time to visit with a fledgling organization like Spirit and demonstrated his genuine concern for youth and animals.
